Fine Art, food, fun!

Ciao Bella's : D

Hope this fine June afternoon  finds you all staying cool and enjoying the weekend!
As for me, I had to kneel and pray!  Why you say? Well I am trying to educate myself  on how to delve into the wonderful world of affiliate marketing and trying to learn all the software downloads and tricks that go with that... NOT an easy task!
At least for this old school girl......lol......I feel like a blind woman trying to drive a car for goodness sakes!
I spent several hours trying to download a SEO toolbar options to my safari browser and finally just gave up and started using Google chrome. Which seems much easier to use but still way too many options and gadgets to learn about!

                           WOW

These code dudes and their innovations are enough to make a woman pour a martini!  and if that wasn't enough now I need to download Word press and figure that software out too!  Hence the prompt to kneel and pray for help!

Last night was spent with good artist friends at our group Art show at the Union Bank in Newhall CA.
                                                 Cheri M, Jackie C and Zony G  2014

                                   Cheri M, Jackie C and Olga K   2014
The show was hopping with lots of new people and was a big success in my opinion we all got lots of exposure of our art.
The show will be hung and open to public viewing until June 23rd. So if your in the area and missed the show last night you can go see it before Monday.

Sneak peek, one of the paintings had I displayed

                                      "P.S. I LOVE YOU"

I recently painted it as a Beatles inspired piece along with 3 others for the recent Hyatt Hotel fund raiser here in Valencia. :D   The proceeds went to the Santa Clarita Senior Center.  If you would like to see any of the other recent paintings I have recently finished just follow this link!  www.jackiecleveland.com
Okay enough of my spouting for today I need go find a cross to put up on the wall in my studio and ask my angels for help in learning all of this techy stuff!  And try to remember I don't really have to do it ALL on my own, although it sure feels like sometimes.

Until next time ... Many blessings my friend.

published mail art

Good morning all : D
I just added a little badge at the bottom of my blog page that will take you too my favorite magazine "Somerset Magazine" I have  recently had some of my art design chosen to be published on their table of contents page in the Jan/Feb issue!  I am so excited and joyful about this. Somerset magazine supports the arts community by showing artists work and letting the artist share about their process of creating the art. It is a wonderful venue for artists to have their work seen, as well as a teaching modality to inspire other artists to keep thinking out of the box and creating new art.  If you would like to see the magazine just click on the icon of it at the bottom of my blog page for more info.

Roses Roses Roses : ]

Just another multi-media painiting I whipped out for the Rose Show event in November 2011.
The paintings seem to always look much better in real life than in digital format.
This one has about eight layers of medium and paint to achieve this look. I lost count....lol.... but if you could see in real life all the beautiful color and texture nuances would show through, like looking into a pond. I used acrylic paint, distress ink, glimmer mist, water color crayons on water color paper. This was an image I made up out of my imagination.  Hope you enjoyed seeing it and leave a comment if you want to. I's be happy to  answer any questions you might have about the process. BTW most of my work is for sale.

Why do we do "Tag art"?

Well for me its just a quick and easy way to get the creative juices flowing through me and allow those creative ideas to surface and take form. Great medium to experiment without fear of messing up and wasting my materials.  Also I like them for noting great uplifting quotes and sharing the positive vibe to the world. Honestly I think some of my most successful ideas come out of tag making!  What do I do with them all? Well I have a pin up board in my Studio and they collect there until they end up on someones gift bag or get entered into Somerset Studio magazine for publishing consideration. Someday hopefully I will see my work in my favorite magazine! With all the other artists I admire and learn from......
Here some of my latest works that I did send in for submission.
What do you think?  What do you feel as you look at these images?

The Rose.....

Here is a Mixed Media painting I just finished......the quote....."The rose speaks silently, in a language known only to the  heart"  Unknown author.
     There are 10 layers in this painting. When viewed in real time the many layers are translucent so the multiple layers fuse into one another making a unique synergy of imagery.  Lots of texture as well.  This kind of art is very fun but also time consuming as the layers need to dry in between applications.  Hope you enjoyed seeing what I have been up to in my studio lately.  : }

This is some mail art I created this weekend......yes this IS and envelope!
And......... this is the back of the envelope.  wouldn't you just love to get this in the mail instead of a bill?!  I would  : D
I just found and bought this gear stamp and was inspired to do some "steam punk" art.  for those of you who are not familiar with "steam punk" its one of the latest hottest genres in the art world today and  Has a big following.  This design is not strictly what one would consider "steam punk", but I used it as a jumping off place and this was the result.  Hope you enjoyed seeing it.
