Roses Roses Roses : ]

Just another multi-media painiting I whipped out for the Rose Show event in November 2011. 

The paintings seem to always look much better in real life than in digital format.
This one has about eight layers of medium and paint to achieve this look. I lost count....lol.... but if you could see in real life all the beautiful color and texture nuances would show through, like looking into a pond. I used acrylic paint, distress ink, glimmer mist, water color crayons on water color paper. This was an image I made up out of my imagination.  Hope you enjoyed seeing it and leave a comment if you want to. I's be happy to  answer any questions you might have about the process. Why do we do "Tag art"?

Well for me its just a quick and easy way to get the creative juices flowing through me and allow those creative ideas to surface and take form. Great medium to experiment without fear of messing up and wasting my materials.  Also I like them for noting great uplifting quotes and sharing the positive vibe to the world. Honestly I think some of my most successful ideas come out of tag making!  What do I do with them all? Well I have a pin up board in my Studio and they collect there until they end up on someones gift bag or get entered into Somerset Studio magazine for publishing consideration. Someday hopefully I will see my work in my favorite magazine! With all the other artists I admire and learn from......

The Rose.....

      Here is a Mixed Media painting I just finished......the quote....."The rose speaks silently, in a language known only to the  heart"  Unknown author.  
     There are 10 layers in this painting. When viewed in real time the many layers are translucent so the multiple layers fuse into one another making a unique synergy of imagery.  Lots of texture as well.  This kind of art is very fun but also time consuming as the layers need to dry in between applications.  Hope you enjoyed seeing what I have been up to in my studio lately.  : }

This is some mail art I created this weekend......yes this IS and envelope!

And......... this is the back of the envelope.  wouldn't you just love to get this in the mail instead of a bill?!  I would  : D

I just found and bought this gear stamp and was inspired to do some "steam punk" art.  for those of you who are not familiar with "steam punk" its one of the latest hottest genres in the art world today and  Has a big following.  This design is not strictly what one would consider "steam punk", but I used it as a jumping off place and this was the result.  Hope you enjoyed seeing it.

    A tag I made recently, its mixed media fun for sure! quick and easy way to get your creative juices flowing. Just apply some distress ink on a craft mat, spray with water, smoosh tag over the colors. Stamp the images you like. Then apply quotes that inspire you in any form you wish....spray with glimmer mist and tie on twill. I put a little distress stickles on my twill, I just love the bling!  lol

Hi all good morning!  : D

This is my very first attempt at creating a blog! Not really sure what I am doing, but somehow muddling through all the "options" Oh my goodness soooooooooo many options. LOL  I am from the old school world when we actually picked land line phones to keep in touch. Oh my! how the world has changed and so quickly indeed! I feel like I have discovered some strange alien space ship, and trying to figure out how to get it to function by clicking all the strange symbols and well...........just seeing what happens next!  Seems to me if ya want to keep up in the world today ya gotta have a blog, anyone who is successful and in touch with the world has one, so here I go jumping into the virtual world of sharing my self with the world via blogging.  Hmmmmmmmm  know does anyone really know what the heck the word blog  means?  I am very excited to learn new things and would be happy to get any advice I can on how to insert photos of my art or videos etc. Its all new to me  : ]
